frequently asked questions.
What is a limited edition print?
Limited edition prints ensure you won’t see your artwork at every Tom, Dick and Harry’s place. All LMS studio prints are limited to a certain number of editions, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
This makes your artwork special for a few reasons; first of all not absolutely everyone will have it, ensuring it is unique! It makes sure your artwork is collectable, and not a trend. And - you can feel comfort in knowing you are one of only a limited number of people who own than work.
Each print will specifiy how many editions are available (eg. limited to 20 editions), so when you ‘add to cart’ you know just how ‘exclusive’ your purchase is!
How long will it take for my print to arrive?
We work with a renowned Victorian printer, who is very popular in the industry. For this reason prints can take from 2 - 5 weeks to reach you. Prep times vary greatly depending on the material and framing option you choose; and transit times will vary based on your location. As a general rule, rolled prints take around 2 weeks, with stretched or framed items taking longer.
We know 2 - 5 weeks feels like a long time, but it will be worth it; nothing done well is done quick!
Will a sold out print be restocked?
Nope — once all editions of a print are sold out, it’s gone forever. This keeps the artwork exclusive to only a special few!

What is the difference between paper (cotton rag) and canvas? Is one better than the other?
We print on premium, archival quality materials to ensure your prints don’t just look good, but last the test of time too. Both print options are of equally high quality, it just depends on which style framing you prefer as to which material you choose to order.
Smooth Cotton Rag: Is paper made from 100% cotton. It features a smooth matte finish and a light fast rating of over 100 years (no fading), this paper produces outstanding prints that feature brilliant colours and perfect reproduction of detail. A print in this material is recommended to be framed under glass.
Canvas: Canvas is strong and durable but has a light weight quality and is highly archival. Ultra durable, with a smooth finish and water resistance, our canvas prints produce deep vibrant colours and outstanding blacks. A print in this material is recommended to be stretched, with a floating oak frame.
How is my unframed print delivered? And what do I do once I receive it?
Unframed prints are delicate and therefore carefully packaged in a protective cylinder. Once an order is received it should only be opened by your chosen professional framer to avoid damage. Prints are delicate and any damage incurred once removed from their protective cylinder will not be the responsibility of LMS studio. Both canvas and paper unframed prints are delivered ready to be framed appropriately.
Why don’t you offer paper (cotton rag) prints in large sizes like the canvas?
There’s two reasons;
1. In the larger sizes, artworks look more like the real thing when printed onto canvas. So to keep prints as true to the original as possible, we only print large sizes on canvas.
2. Budget. Canvas prints require custom stretching and framing to be hung; whereas paper prints just need to be framed under glass. So by printing artwork on paper in standard sizes (eg. A4), customers can buy picture frames off the shelf, on a budget that suits them.
Why can’t I buy a paper print in a frame?
Paper prints are only available in standard ‘A’ print sizes. This means frames are readily available in a variety of colours and styles, in stores that sell frames. It’s much more budget friendly to buy a ready made standard size frame than to have one custom made. Of course, if custom is what you are after, we recommend taking your paper print to a local framer.
