ARTIST COMMENTS: Scattered among the north of Australia you’ll find the Gouldian Finch flocks. These sweet birds are known for thier quiet and monogomous nature, but that’s not always true. Red-Headed Gouldian Finches are an angry lot. Unlike their more relaxed black-headed counterpart, the Angry Red-Heads have heightened levels of testosterone and do not mind ruffling a few feathers. They use threatening tactics to secure food and nesting spots, and avoid mating with black-heads - it’s all rather elitist, really. So here they are…. The Angry Red-Heads; chest up, head high, wings back, and looking straight down their nose at their inferior brothers.
