Nothing Major (original)
WIDTH: 790mm
HEIGHT: 630mm
MEDIUM: Acrylic on canvas
FRAME: American Ash
ARTIST COMMENTS: Pink Cockatoos are an endangered species who’ve had more name changes than ‘the artist formally known as Prince’. Originally named Leadbeater’s Cockatoo, they were then renamed Major Mitchell’s Cockatoo, and they are now known as the Pink Cockatoo; zero stars for originality - but i guess it’s better than ‘Boaty McBoatface’. Major Mitchell (the second namesake of these birds) is quoted as saying “Few birds more enliven the monotonous hues of the Australian forest than this beautiful species whose pink-coloured wings and flowing crest might have embellished the air of a more voluptuous region”. Nothing Major is an interprestation of the Pink Cockatoo doing just that!
ORIGINAL ARTWORKS: Painted with high quality UV resistant acrylic paints on 440gsm, acid free, linen-cotton blend canvas
